A Collaborative Step Forward in Subsea Innovation

Earlier this month, the Atlantas Marine team took to the waters off Weymouth to conduct a series of subsea equipment trials in collaboration with LateraL. The trials were designed to evaluate the latest generation of cleaning tools, helping to shape the future of underwater maintenance and inspection.

Setting Sail from Weymouth

Following final pre-dive checks on both the VideoRay Defender and Ocean Modules V8 M500, the crew set sail aboard Lady Sarah to the worksite just outside Weymouth Harbour. The mission: to push the limits of several cleaning systems and assess their efficiency in removing marine growth under realistic field conditions.

Testing Advanced Subsea Cleaning Technologies

Across a full day of operations, the team deployed a range of cleaning tools, including the LateraL skid, Impaq Mini Cleaner, CaviBlaster, and CaviDome.

Each system was evaluated for:

  • Cleaning performance under different marine growth densities
  • Ease of ROV integration and pilot control
  • Operational efficiency in varying underwater environments

The results demonstrated the exceptional capability and adaptability of these systems when paired with Atlantas Marine’s advanced ROV fleet.

Driving Safer and Smarter Marine Operations

These trials are part of Atlantas Marine’s ongoing commitment to developing safer, faster, and more sustainable methods for subsea cleaning and inspection. By integrating cutting-edge tooling with proven ROV platforms, the company continues to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact across its global operations.

A Thank You to Our Partners

Atlantas Marine extends its thanks to the LateraL team for their collaboration and technical input throughout the trials. The data and insights gathered during this project will play a crucial role in refining future cleaning and inspection solutions for clients worldwide.

Looking Ahead

The success of the Weymouth trials represents another step in Atlantas Marine’s mission to deliver world-leading subsea innovation.

Stay tuned for the full results and upcoming applications of this technology across commercial and defence sectors.
