Course Introduction

The Advanced Tactical ROV Operator Course is designed to develop operators’ skills to an advanced level using the VideoRay MSS Defender system. This intensive 10-day program prepares participants to expertly navigate complex maritime environments and execute demanding underwater missions. Operators will learn to search, locate, and identify conventional and improvised munitions/devices (EOD/IED) with precision and efficiency, safeguarding divers and naval assets while achieving 100% area clearance and maintaining operational effectiveness.

Participants will gain expertise in advanced ROV operations, including low-visibility searching, enclosed-space navigation, and mission planning for high-risk scenarios. The course integrates practical applications with the use of advanced navigation tools, such as the Oculus M750d multibeam SONAR, GPS, and DVL (dead-reckoning), ensuring accurate positioning even in challenging environments.

Participants will be trained to “field strip” the ROV and conduct advanced maintenance as part of the course.

Who Should Attend
