This course focuses on the operation of the VideoRay MSS Defender, equipping participants with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively utilise this advanced ROV system in diverse marine environments. The training emphasizes both theoretical concepts and practical application, covering core features such as the integrated navigation package, which includes GPS, Doppler Velocity Log (DVL), and Greensea software for precise vehicle control and mission planning.
Participants will gain hands-on experience with the Defender’s capabilities, including the use of dead-reckoning navigation facilitated by the DVL for maintaining accurate positioning in GPS-denied environments. Additionally, the course covers the deployment and interpretation of the Oculus M750d multibeam SONAR, enabling operators to conduct detailed subsea inspections and obstacle avoidance.

Do I need prior experience to attend this course?
No prior experience with ROVs is required. The Foundation ROV Operator Course is designed for beginners and professionals who want to build or enhance their skills in ROV operation.
What equipment will be used during the training?
Participants will get hands-on experience with our industry-leading mission specialist series ROV’s. Training also includes the use of advanced cameras, sonar systems, and simulation technology for a comprehensive learning experience.
Will I receive a certification upon completing the course?
Yes, upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Foundation ROV Operator Certificate. This certification is recognised across sectors and demonstrates your competency in operating ROVs safely and effectively.
