Extension Tether

All VideoRay systems come as standard with 250 feet of neutrally buoyant tether, and now you can choose from several combinations of neutrally buoyant or negatively buoyant tether lengths to suit the job at hand.

The detachable tethers encourage easier transport and handling as they accommodate specific depths.

Modular lengths of neutrally- and positively- buoyant tether can be mixed and matched by simply locking in new. Advice will be given on the best combination of tethers for particular applications – please contact us directly to discuss.

Tether Deployment System (TDS)

The TDS quickly deploys and retrieves the VideoRay tether with a hand-powered reel inside the Pelican 1620 case which easily deploys and retrieves the tether, keeping your work area neat and safe.

To reduce ware on the tether and danger of tripping in confined spaces, plus saves time at the end of operations when packing away the equipment.

Basic 15" Monitor
  (NTSC only)
Built into the Integrated Control Box, with a bigger viewing area than the previous screen, the images from the VideoRay camera eye are larger than life and give you more confidence as you navigate.

The monitor works in three different modes - Full Screen Video shows images from the VideoRay’s front or rear camera eye; Full Screen Computer Display shows computer data from accessories, such as sonar, magnetometer, or other gathering devices; Full Screen Computer Display with Inset Video displays readings from a sonar or positioning system on the full screen along with video from the VideoRay camera eye in the smaller inset window.

Deluxe Flatron Monitor
  (NTSC/PAL)
The state-of-the-art LG Flatron monitor combines a computer monitor of up to 1024 by 768 resolution with a complete television tuner and monitor that works with every broadcast standard on earth.

When used with VideoRay's laptop-based accessories such as sonars and positioning systems, the Flatron allows for simultaneous display of computer images and video with a customizable "picture in picture" mode allowing three different sizes of video display.

VideoRay's custom-designed mount for this monitor stows the monitor safely for transport, allows it to be tipped to any convenient angle for many different operators and operating modes.

SeaSprite Scanning Sonar

The world’s smallest sonar, the SeaSprite sonar allows obstacles to be located, identified, and measured in low visibility environments. The SeaSprite plugs into any VideoRay
Pro III XE or Deep Blue XE  unit and features a fast scan rate to match VideoRay’s high manoeuvrability. No calibration is needed.

The SeaSprite can reference navigate along a vessel hull, pier, or other object and "see" objects on the sonar display long before they can be seen by video or a diver’s eyes. The SeaSprite includes electronics and software features often included in full sized commercial systems, such as true acoustic zoom, instant scan reversal and sector scan options, inverted mode operation, and a hard boot protection for the transducer. The sonar is controlled through a laptop computer or PDA, which is connected to the VideoRay control box.

Specification

Features:

 World’s smallest sonar.

 Cost effective and reliable.

 Simple to operate

 Full software functionality.

 True acoustic zoom.

Instant scan reversal and sector scan options.

 Inverted mode operation.

 Hard boot protection for transducer.

 Target size measurement.

Laser Pointer

Mounting between the VideoRay skid, the LASER pointer allows the size of underwater objects to be easily determined. Consisting of two parallel red lasers mounted 4 inches apart, it provides a fixed reference which will show on the videoray display, and provide some visual perspective on a 2D image.

Greater Thruster Option (GTO) Upgrade

When working in currents and/or with a significant length of tether in the water, the more thrust you have available the better. VideoRay’s Greater Thrust Option (GTO) couples highly efficient, larger props with a new, custom-developed drive train to develop amazing additional thrust on your VideoRay Pro submersible without consuming more power or changing topside or submersible electronics. Due to the advanced design of the thrusters standard on Pro III and Deep Blue submersibles delivered since July, 2003, GTO thrusters can be installed in minutes. Earlier Pro models can be upgraded to the Pro III style thrusters, again without modification to the internal submersible electronics or topside electronics except for a single program chip on the controller.

VideoRays equipped with the GTO option have a greater than one to one thrust to weight ratio, and can exceed four knots of forward speed – by far the best performance available in an inspection-class ROV.

This additional thrust, however, does NOT come at the expense of slow speed maneuvering. In fact, these larger props allow for even more precise positioning and maneuvering than previous thrusters.

Thickness Gauge from Cygnus Instruments

The Cygnus Instruments thickness gauge has been designed specifically to be mounted onto the VideoRay
Pro III XE  and Deep Blue XE. The gauge allows the operator to carry out thickness measurements in areas that have previously been unfeasible using large ROVs or divers, such as inside pipelines. The gauge uses a technique known as Multiple Echo, which allows measurements to be taken without first removing coatings.

The unit is pressure tested to 500 m and dedicated software displays the time, date and thickness readings on the surface. All readings can be stored.

Lighted Auxiliary Zoom Inspection Camera (LAZIC)

The LAZIC widens the scope of work possible with the VideoRay
Pro III XE and Deep Blue XE, enabling the operator to incorporate upward vision and side view.

The LAZIC can be implemented in two different modes. In 'look up' mode, your VideoRay is fitted with a different float block which allows the camera to be embedded in the float block looking straight up. This makes the VideoRay one of the few tools capable of moving around a water tank or enclosed reservoir and closely inspecting the cover.

In the second, 'side or front mount' mode, the LAZIC can inspect horizontal surfaces or look straight ahead with the zoom camera in addition to the standard non-zooming tilt camera. In this mode, the normal float block is fitted to the unit, but a replacement skid is used which is higher and allows the camera to fit underneath the vehicle.

The LAZIC system provides the following capabilities:

 Super HAD technology.

 Compact and lightweight: 38(W) x 43(H) x 73(D) mm / approx. 100g

10x optical zoom lens and 4x digital zoom.

 Slow shutter (long time exposure).

 Backlight compensation.

 Exposure compensation.

 Zoom/focus quick adjustment function.

 Auto focus/One push auto focus.

 Aperture Control: 16 Steps.

 Variable Shutter Speed
