Blue View Imaging Sonar

BlueView Technologies and VideoRay LLC announce the availability of a powerful underwater system that combines VideoRay's leading micro-ROV with BlueView’s high-definition ProViewer P450-15, multi-beam imaging sonar technology.

Taking ROV sonars to a new level, the BlueView multi-beam imaging sonar provides high quality real-time sonar images from your VideoRay PRO III or VideoRay Deep Blue.

This combination allows inspections that were previously impossible or impractical due to limitations of human divers or heavy, expensive equipment with significant deployment challenges. The sonar module measuring only 7” wide and 4” high is affixed to the belly of the micro-ROV.

Users can employ the sonar and ROV together as an integrated unit, or separately, depending on the situation. When the BlueView sonar is separated and fixed from a boat or dock, a VideoRay ROV maneuvering in front of the sonar is easily seen in the ProViewer imagery. Steve Van Meter, a micro-ROV consultant commented, “Using the sonar in this dual capacity made a recent mission really easy. Topside I was able to quickly interpret the data and locate the target. Then, using the ROV, I pinpointed its location. The dual capability of using the sonar mounted on the boat or mounted to the ROV, and ease of integration between the two platforms was a tremendous time saver and money maker for a guy like me.”

Specification

The P450-15 ProViewer sonar head is equipped with a 450KHz transducer that provides a 50˚ imaging field with ranges out to 450ft.  It is designed for midrange imaging and performs well in shallow waters.
