The Cygnus Ultrasonic Metal Thickness Gauge has been specifically designed for mounting on to small inspection ROVs. Using Cygnus' digital multiple echo technology, the gauge will allow the operator to carry out thickness measurements in areas that have previously been unfeasible using large ROVs or divers.
The unit is pressure tested to 500m. Dedicated software displays the time, date and thickness measurements on the surface.
Complementing the Cygnus range of thickness gauges, the NEW Cygnus S1 Probe Handler is developed for use on ROVs carrying out ship hull inspections.
The Cygnus S1 is constructed from acetyl with stainless steel fixings which keeps the weight down. Ultrasonic probe alignment is provided by a single jointed coupling that provides 45 degrees of movement from the vertical plane. It has magnetic pads which allow it to hold on to the hull plate and aid probe alignment.
