PPU Seminar - Southampton 12th May 2011

CAT 3

The UK Hydrographic Society UK (Southern England), The Nautical Institute and the UK Maritime Pilots Association are hosting a half day seminar on Portable Pilot Units and Electronic Charts, at the Southampton Solent University Conference Centre Thursday 12th May 2011. More Details

To support this seminar, PPU manufacturer ‘Marimatech’ and their UK representatives ‘Atlantas Marine’ are holding a PPU workshop at the same venue 11.00am-12.00.

“The Marimatech Portable Pilot Unit; a 12 year history, present & future developments”

Marimatech and UK agents Atlantas Marine will present the development of their PPU product range,  discuss the technical challenges, and how the product has become smaller, lighter, more reliable and easier to use.  With 12 years experience in developing PPU’s, we shall discuss the development of PPU technology, current technology and future developments.

Milford Haven were the first UK port to invest in PPU technology several years ago, and we are delighted to confirm that Ed Neale from Milford Haven port will be giving a presentation on their practical ‘real-life’ experiences from the sharp end.

In recent years Bristol Port also invested in Marimatech PPU technology in anticipation of a new deep water terminal, and we are equally delighted to announce that a guest speaker from Bristol Port will also be discussing their experiences of using the Marimatech PPU.

We expect this to be a very well attended event, and recommend that you arrive promptly at 10.45am, for an 11.00 am start.  The workshop will conclude at mid-day, in time for registration at the afternoons PPU seminar. Please complete attached registration form and email back to admin@atlantasmarine.com if you wish to attend.
